Information regarding the threat was originally found by Port Chester High School staff members on Tuesday, Oct. 8, causing the building to be placed on a temporary lockout as a precaution, according to Port Chester Police.

A resulting police investigation resulted in the identification of a person of interest, who was later interviewed.

However, an in-depth investigation conducted by the Port Chester and Rye Brook Police Departments found "no credible information or any type of criminality" in connection to the threat, Port Chester Police said in a post on social media.

The lockout was lifted later in the day on Tuesday.
